The 14th summer West End Festival is now underway, and it was kicked off in spectacular style last weekend by the dazzling annual parade of dancers, costumes, floats and music on Sunday 14 June. Kelvingrove Park was the venue this year, as an estimated 100,000 revellers came to enjoy the sun sights and sounds in what's now being dubbed 'Scotland's Mardi Gras'. The parade started at the top of Kelvin Way and snaked through Kelvingrove Park finishing at Park Circus. There are many spectacular photos of the parade which can be viewed on Flickr - search results above. But the festival is much bigger than just the parade. It's a two week extravaganza which will run until 28th June, with many art, music, drama and cultural events on offer.
